Swedish wind power set a new record during the storm "Urd" when it blew through Sweden, reaching hurricane strengths in some areas. Turbines in Denmark also produced much more energy than expected.
Tuesday morning, Sweden produced 5.7 million kWh of wind power in just one hour. This is 0.5 million more than the previous record, writes electricity company Bixia on its website. During the past three days, wind power has made up 26 percent of the total electricity consumption, writes the company.
