
The largest offshore wind farm in the United States to date is poised for construction. Wednesday afternoon local time, the board of the Long Island Power Authority unanimously voted to allow the construction of the South Fork farm 50 kilometers south-east of Long Island in New York.
This is reported by several media including local newspaper The East Hampton Star. Project developer Deepwater Wind is pleased that the last potential legal hurdle has been cleared.
