The first German offshore wind auction has begun. Developers have until April 3 to submit bids on projects in the German part of the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, where projects totaling 1.55 GW are up for tender, informs Germany's energy regulatory authority Bundesnetzagentur in a press release (German).
This marks the second time ever that Germany opens an auction for renewable energy. The first time was the Danish/German pilot tender last December, where Denmark's European Energy emerged victorious, winning 50 MW in solar projects auctioned off by Germany. The price was a record-low DKK 0.40/kWh (EUR 0.053).
