Several flaws found in collapsed Vestas turbine

The bolts on the collapsed Vestas turbine were not sufficiently tightened by the electrician who neither had experience nor the right training. And it was not the only flawed turbine, concludes the Swedish Accident Investigation Authority.

On Christmas day 2015, a 400-ton V112 turbine broke down and collapsed in the woods by the southern Swedish village of Lemnhult. The collapse was both dramatic and highly unusual, as the turbine along with 31 similarly constructed turbines in the Swedish wind farm were less than three years old.
