Vestas bags its biggest US order in almost two years

Wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has received an order concerning 174 wind turbines for a project in the US.

The order intake at Vestas is inching close to the first gigawatt of the year. The turbine manufacturer has announced that an order has ticked in for 147 turbines from the V110 2.0 MW series.

With its 348 MW, this order is not only the largest of the year. The closest competitor is an order of 300 MW, announced in early January. The latest order is also the largest single order for the US market since Warren Buffett ordered 200 turbines in April 2015, of the same type, for a project in Nebraska.
