Siemens hires drones for wind turbine inspections

Going forward, a US company will assist Siemens with a cheaper and safer way to check if wind turbines need repairs.

The expensive, time-consuming, and sometimes dangerous work of inspecting wind turbines for wear and tear will be replaced in the future by a brand new kind of employee.

With the desire to conduct this task cheaper in a cheaper fashion, German Siemens has hired US drone specialists at the company Skyspecs, and the two companies will now join forces to refine the methods for wind turbine inspections.
