Vestas takes first step back into booming market

The Danish wind turbine manufacturer is now ready for take-off in India, says the CEO, who is pleased that the orders to China are already inching close to last year's deliveries. But the road is paved with obstacles, he says.

It has been a rough start, albeit a restart, for Vestas on the Indian market. Although the manufacturer is still lagging far behind industry peers such as Suzlon and Gamesa – now Siemens Gamesa – on the world's fourth-largest market, the first quarter 2017 saw the company take its next step.
