
Sunday afternoon, construction launched on Russia's first wind farm.
OJSC Fortum, which is a Russian subsidiary of Finnish Fortum, installed the first tower section on a 35 MW demonstration project near the city Ulyanovsk, 680 kilometers southeast of Moscow. The project, which was approved shortly before Christmas, is expected to become operational later this year and will receive subsidies for 15 years.
