US giant GE is performing well on the order front. Earlier this month, the wind turbine manufacturer booked its largest Chinese order to date, which was followed by an order for 1.2 GW turbines from Spanish developer Forestalia Wednesday, marking Europe's largest individual order. Meanwhile, GE announced a further 300 MW order Wednesday from Invenergy, one of the largest project developers in the US.
GE, which has had less success than Vestas selling more than 2 MW to the US market, will endow the Santa Rita project in Texas with 120 of its GE 2.5 wind turbines.
