Vestas launches turbine of 4.2 MW – and 241 meters

The wind turbine manufacturer is introducing a new platform with its three largest turbines to date. Now, we have the most effective on the market, states the company's chief technology officer.

In terms of technological development, Vestas is taking its biggest step since 2010. Thursday at noon, the Danish turbine manufacturer launched its by-far largest onshore turbine to date, with three new turbine models with capacity of 4 to 4.2 MW. Besides the 4 MW turbine with the well-known rotor lengths of 117 and 136 meters, a V150 turbines was also presented, which will have a tip height of 241 meters.
