Vestas CEO spies great potential in Russia
"We have always been good at pioneering wind in new markets," says Vestas CEO Anders Runevad, who is also on the lookout for new growth areas in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
Last Wednesday, Vestas was selected for one of the largest jobs ever. The Finnish/Russian consortium, consisting of energy company Fortum and state-owned developer Rusnano, points to the Danish wind turbine manufacturer as supplier of turbines on the project of 1 GW, which the consortium won in last month's Russian tender.
