Big benefits from US tax credit begin to trickle in for Vestas

With two large order surges in the second quarter, Vestas has sold 80 percent more turbines to the US than it did during the same period last year. The product portfolio's classic model maintains its status as the American favorite.

Friday evening, Vestas added almost half a gigawatt to its 2017 orderbook. First, an order of 302 MW was announced for Warren Buffett's Wind XI project – where orders have now been placed for around 850 of the total 2,000 MW.  This was followed by a 200 MW order from an unnamed customer just as it struck midnight on the US west coast, just managing to squeeze in to the second quarter order intake.
