Offshore wind project Moray East has acquired new owners. The Portuguese company EDPR has sold 26 percent of the potential 1,116 MW project off the northern coast of Scotland to the French energy company Engie amounting to GBP 21 million (EUR 23.8 million), announced EDPR.
This is the second time this year, that the two companies have reached an agreement to work together at sea. In March, the duo announced that they would both bid on a 250-750 MW wind farm near Dunkirk in France. Engie and EDPR also work together on the Dieppe-La Tréport and Noirmoutier projects, making up 500 MW, together with the floating offshore wind pilot projects Leucate in France and WindFloat in Portugal, both at 24 MW respectively.
