Vestas in setback on receding French market

Political uncertainty has slowed down the French wind market, warns an interest organization. The German manufacturer has overtaken Vestas as a leading market leader this year.

The French wind build-up has lost its pace relative to last year. In the first six months of the year, wind turbines with a total capacity of 492.35 MW were installed, 13 percent less than the same time last year. Altogether, 1.56 GW was installed in 2016.

This is according to the French windmill lobby France Energie Eolienne (FEE) in a press release.
