
Offshore wind project "Icebreaker" in Ohio took a big step toward approval this Monday. If everything goes according to plan, it will be the first wind farm in the North American region known as the "Great Lakes", near the Canadian-US border, reports Recharge.
The developer Lake Erie Energy Development Corp. (LEEDCo) tells the media Monday that its 2,100-page application was found "in accordance" with the Ohio Power Sitting Board (OPSB) and can now be processed. Last year, the developer named MHI Vestas as the supplier of six V126 turbines of 3.45 MW each.
