Equity fund buys the UK's oldest offshore wind farm

In the search for new wind investments, one of Europe's largest, private, renewables funds has now set its sights on old, British wind farms.

Wind turbines do not have to be young to be attractive. British-Irish Greencoat has now purchased two old, British wind farms. The acquisitions are happening just a few weeks after Greencoat issued new shares and thus increased its investment portfolio by around EUR 295 million.

Offshore wind farm North Hoyle, which was the first offshore wind farm installed in the UK and supported by the subsidy program Round 1, has been sold to Greencoat. The farm has capacity of 60 MW and is located off of Wales.
