Concentrated solar power project of 700 MW wins auction

A consortium has secured an order worth EUR 2.83 billion on the fourth phase of a solar project, intended to generate 5 GW of power in 2030.

Dubai is poised to host yet another skyscraper. A consortium including players Shanghai Electric and the Saudi energy company Acwa Power has been awarded the job after winning an auction to construct the world's largest concentrated solar power (CSP) project, at 700 MW, in the United Arab Emirates, announces Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA).

The projects includes construction of the world's tallest solar tower of 260 meters.
