
While the market for offshore wind turbines grows, and Ørsted (formerly Dong Energy) looks set to double its billion-kroner earnings from this source in four years, several companies delivering wind turbines, foundations and cables are struggling to make decent returns.
One example of the trend is Siemens Wind Power, which had 7,000 employees in Denmark last year. Despite an extremely strong market position, the company has struggled with earnings for a decade.
