Vattenfall enters massive deal with Microsoft

IT major Microsoft has signed a 10-year contract with the Swedish utility to purchase almost 300 MW of electricity to supply data centers.

Vattenfall has found a buyer for its future Dutch wind farm Wieringmeer. The Swedish energy company has signed a deal with Microsoft, which has committed to buy the electricity from the 295-MW farm for 10 years starting from operation launch in 2019, announces Vattenfall.
