
At some point in 2025, turbines are supposed to be spinning at Ørsted's Borkum Riffgrund 3 offshore wind farm in German waters, and now the Danish utility announces that BASF has signed on to buy a portion of the facility's output.
The two companies have entered a 25-year power purchase agreement for the offtake of 186MW, thereby marking the longest duration PPA signed for wind at sea, Ørsted informs in a media release.
