EnBW invests in renewables despite decline

Despite the decline in renewable energy and electricity trading, EnBW's interim report showed overall progress, however despite much larger sales the result fell by a third.

For many utilities earnings from grid operations this year have provided a welcome buffer for many, include German firm EnBW.

In the first six months of the year, the company presented 6.8 percent growth in revenue to EUR 10.5 billion and an adjusted EBIT result of EUR 1,073 million against EUR 968 million. A result, which is primarily driven by the net business, which also grew by 14 percent on the top line to EUR 3.7 billion and with 16.6 percent growth in the adjusted EBIT result to EUR 611 million.
