Vestas wins order on clipped wind market

The turbine manufacturer emphasizes the local impact of an upcoming wind farm in Mexico, where the new government is talking about decentralizing and democratizing the electricity system after a canceled tender.

Engie has its sights set on Vestas. Shortly before Christmas, the wind turbine manufacturer landed its largest Indian order to date, when the French utility placed a 252 MW order. Meanwhile, Reuters reported Wednesday that the Danish manufacturer was negotiating a 361 MW order in Brazil. Tuesday evening, a 96 MW order was announced for a facility in the north-western Mexican state of Tamaulipas, Vestas informed.
