ABB lands "one of its biggest-ever contracts"

Equinor and SSE will bring HVDC technology to a British project for the first time at the world's biggest offshore wind farm.

In collaboration with Norwegian firm Aibel, ABB will produce the inverter systems for the world's largest offshore wind farm, Dogger Bank. Equinor and SSE, which are behind the project, encompassing three farms for a total of 3.6 GW, have hired ABB to produce an High Voltage Direct Current inverter system. This will be used on the two platforms that Aibel was contracted for in July, according to ABB.
