Environmental groups warn against biofuels in aviation

Almost 100 environmental organizations around the world have signed an open letter to the UN International Civil Aviation Organisation, warning against the plans to dial up the use of biofuels in airplanes.

The UN's International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) is hosting a conference in Mexico to discuss alternative fuels. The event has prompted 96 environmental groups from around the world to sign an open letter in which they condemn a potential large-scale use of biofuels for aviation.
