MHI Vestas close to debut order in Japan

The Danish-Japanese turbine maker is nominated to deliver 9.5MW turbines to one of the first offshore wind projects in Japan.

It's been in the cards that MHI Vestas would play a part in Japan's offshore wind expansion. Partly because the size of both the market and the selection of offshore wind OEMs necessitates that they all compete on every market. And partly because the one half of the company comprised of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries makes the turbine manufacturer's entry into one of its home countries that much easier.
