Japan designates 11 offshore wind sites

11 offshore wind project sites are nominated in the island country's waters, with preparations set to begin immediately on four zones, one of which includes an Ørsted-Tepco co-development project.

Japan has taken yet another step toward establishing a domestic offshore wind industry. The country's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) have thus designated 11 sites in five regions for offshore project development, informs METI in a statement.
