Siemens Gamesa's offshore CEO says Japan is the next big thing

We might not be half Japanese, but we know how to make offshore wind turbines, Andreas Nauen says following an important debut deal.

Preferred supplier to the Japanese market. As of June 20, Siemens Gamesa can write that status on its resumé, as the manufacturer received its first large-scale supply deal for a Japanese offshore wind farm – the 455 MW Northern Akita project under development by Obayashi Corporation. The project will be equipped with the German-Spanish producer's SG 8.0-167 DD machines.
