Vattenfall wins Kriegers Flak with record-low bid

Swedish energy company Vattenfall was victorious in the bid for the construction of Danish wind farm Kriegers Flak. The price is the lowest ever seen in Denmark and far below the cap which was set in 2012.

Kriegers Flak, which is scheduled to be operational in 2022, will not only become Denmark's largest offshore wind farm with the capacity to supply sustainable electricity to approximately 600,000 Danish homes – or about 20 percent of all homes in Denmark. The farm will also be Denmark's cheapest offshore wind farm with a price of DKK 0.372 (EUR 0.049) per kilowatt-hour, according to the Danish Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate. The winner of the tender was Sweden's Vattenfall.
