ABB does surprisingly well in Q2

The Swiss-Swedish industrial conglomerate ABB did very well in Q2 despite market expectations.

Despite a slightly disappointing top line, with less revenue than expected, the company's net income was positive – with some assistance from favorable currency rates.

ABB's total Q2 revenue was at USD 8.89 million, which grew by 5 percent compared to Q2 in 2017. Analysts had expected a bit more – USD 9.02 billion, according to SME Direkt and USD 9.06 billion according to Bloomberg.
