Maersk writes off hydrogen as fuel for containerships in the short-term
As of right now, hydrogen does not look like a contender for the fuel of the future for container ships, says Maersk. Instead, it will make more sense to use hydrogen to make methanol and ammonia, head of fleet technology tells ShippingWatch.

The shipping industry is searching high and low for a fuel that can make ocean transport greener, but it is not going to be hydrogen that replaces the traditional bunker oil aboard Maersk's container vessels anytime soon.
