Shell inaugurates Europe's largest electrolysis plant

Production is now moving at what Shell, ITM Power, Sintef and other consortium partners describe as Europe's largest Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (PEM) electrolysis setup. With its 10 MW, Refhyne, located south of Cologne, Germany, has an estimated annual output of 1,300 tonnes of hydrogen powered by renewable energy sources.
