Road to alternative fuels is filled with barriers

Many projects aiming to supply the shipping industry with alternative and green fuels are underway, but there are also many obstacles on the road getting there, according to report from DNV.

Many projects have launched with the purpose of making shipping greener and potentially climate neutral by 2050.

The initiatives include possible production of green ammonia and green methanol, storage of CO2, green corridors between key ports, synthetic liquefied natural gas (LNG), and biomass.
