BP takes USD 1.7 billion charge on Deepwater Horizon disaster

BP's payments in 2018 in relation to the drilling rig disaster in the Gulf of Mexico will come to around USD 3 billion, as opposed to a previous estimate of slightly more than USD 2 billion.

When oil major BP presents its fourth quarter accounts on Feb. 6, the report will contain an item of USD 1.7 billion relating to the drilling rig disaster in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010, informs BP.
