Norwegian Helge Lund lands heavyweight oil job

Former head of Statoil and BG Group, Helge Lund, will be the new chairman of BP. The Norwegian citizen is also chairman of Danish pharmaceuticals giant Novo Nordisk and will step down as chairman of Schlumberger.

Norwegian Helge Lund, known for prominent executive roles in the oil industry including years as CEO of Statoil and a short, but lucrative, stint as head of BG Group in the UK, will succeed departing BP Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg, announces the oil firm.
