
Maersk Supply Service is looking to get a larger share of the wind market and is entering a new partnership with turbine manufacturer Vestas to reduce logistics and installation costs.
Danish business daily Børsen reports that the two companies have partnered on a new wind venture, which will involve developing a crane which can handle large offshore wind turbines installed at sea. A prototype is expected to be ready in 2019, while a finished model is first expected in 2 - 3 years. The initiative was taken by the Maersk shipping company six months ago, CEO Steen S. Karstensen tells Børsen.
