Equinor extends Maersk Drilling's contract

The listed Danish drilling company has secured a contact extension worth USD 60 million with Equinor.

Norwegian oil major Equinor has extended a contract with Maersk Drilling, the latter company informs in a statement.

Equinor has exercised two two-month options and has extended one of the existing deals with two months, totaling to six months..

Jackup rig Maersk Intrepid will now be redeployed and remain in use until late August next year.

The options and the extension have a combined value of USD 60 million, Maersk Drilling informs.

Maersk Intrepid is designed to operate in the North Sea. It was delivered back in 2014 and has since been operational in Norway.
