Norwegian oil boss took small pay cut in 2019

Equinor's CEO, Eldar Sætre, was paid USD 1.74 million for his work last year, a slight decrease compared to the year before, reveals the company's new annual report, published at a time when the oil industry is crumbling around the Norwegian major.

In comparison with what chief executives for some of the world's biggest oil companies around the world are paid, Eldar Sætre's 2019 pay is fairly modest. But for most others, an annual pay of USD 1.74 million probably sounds very attractive.
