Norwegian shelf saw significantly more accidents last year
2019 saw more personal injuries in the Norwegian oil industry than the preceding year, according to figures from the Petroleum Safety Authority. There was also a rise in the number of serious incidents.
Safety statistics on the Norwegian oil industry reveal that the number of personal injuries increased from 196 to 230 between 2018 and 2019. 32 of last year's injuries were categorized as serious, while the number for the preceding year was 25, writes the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA).
