Maersk Drilling announces layoffs in the North Sea

Rig company Maersk Drilling lays off upwards of 300 employees in Denmark, Norway and Great Britain, says the company in a press release. The low oil price has created challenges for the sector.

Maersk Drilling is hit hard by the coronavirus outbreak and the oil price crisis, and the company now says it will lay off 250 to 300 employees in the North Sea, distributed across Denmark, Norway and Great Britain, the company writes in a press release Friday.
