Oil minister to monitor Equinor more closely after US flop

After incurring massive losses in the US exceeding EUR 18 billion, senior management at the partially state-owned Norwegian oil giant must now provide an explanation for the company's foreign activities at a special annual meeting with its owner.

Norway's Minister for Petroleum and Energy Tina Bru (Conservative Party) means to increase monitoring of Equinor's overseas business and introduces an annual meeting with management after the partially state-owned oil firm incurred heavy losses in the US.
