Marine researchers in the US begin a mission to propagate the practice of turning oil and gas platforms into reefs.

As oil and gas platforms spread across the world seas reach the end of their service lives and fall into disuse, new ecosystems form beneath the ocean surface, and the platforms thereby become artificial reefs to the benefit of marine life around them.
