Stormy weather blows Shell over ahead of interim report

Production and earnings both land under guidance for the British-Dutch supermajor due to the dramatic winter weather that hit Texas in February.

For the whole first quarter of this year, Shell has lost between 10,000 and 20,000 barrels of oil per day and up to USD 200m in adjusted earnings on account of the harsh winter weather that gripped Texas in February, the oil company confirms in a update note ahead of its coming quarterly financial statement.
