Mice could keep Denmark hooked on Russian gas

The reestablishment of Danish North Sea gas field Tyra last year prompted the country to become a net gas importer for the first time since 1983. That could remain the case until 2023 due to the Baltic Pipe's repealed permit.

Danish-Russian relations are tense of late. This much has become clear in connection with the installation of Nord Stream 2, with Denmark being the final country in a row of nations which needs to accept the Russian-German pipeline's presence in its economic waters, prompting state leaders such as Russia President Vladimir Putin to intervene.
