Eni buys onshore wind portfolio

The Italian oil company takes over Glennmont's portfolio of aging Italian wind farms, but Wind Europe warns that repowering operations still face problems in the country.

Like the other European oil majors, Eni is the process of building up its position within green energy. Also sharing similarity with the others, offshore wind is the main area of interest for the Italian company, which, besides its recent purchase of SSE and Equinor's Dogger Bank, has also made its ambitions clear in forming partnerships to bid in tenders like Scotwind as well as Norway's coming solicitation.
