Solstad given state grant to upgrade ships to green technology

Over the next three years, the Norwegian offshore shipping company Solstad Offshore will be investing NOK 300m to upgrade 11 ships to a hybrid battery technology in order to reduce CO2 emissions. The Norwegian state is contributing to this investment.

Solstad Offshore, which has set itself a target of reducing the fleet’s CO2 emissions by 50 percent by 2030, is investing NOK 300m (EUR 29.92m) over the next three years in a new hybrid battery technology, the company announces in a statement.
