Oil majors fail on vowed climate action for 12th year

An extensive study shows that Shell, BP, ExxonMobil and Chevron have failed to make good on their climate promises with concrete action throughout 12 years.

Even though oil supermajor BP has gone from mentioning ”climate change” 22 to 236 times in its annual financial statement over a period of 12 years, the company has nevertheless increased extraction of fossil fuels between 2009 and 2022.
