EU antitrust regulators have raided the German offices of Gazprom Thursday, suspecting the Russian energy giant of illegally pushing up prices in Europe, writes news agency AFP.

According to the news agency, the European Commission has reported that Tuesday’s unannounced searches took place among ”several companies in Germany active in the supply, transmission and storage of natural gas.”

Two sources familiar with the case report that one target of the raid was Gazprom, which is accused of having triggered an energy crisis in the EU.

Gazprom declines to comment on the case, writes AFP.
