High oil and gas prices have provided TotalEnergies with the right conditions for carrying out new acquisitions, which is exactly what the French supermajor intends.

The report comes from Upstream Online citing statements made by TotalEnergies Chief Executive Officer Patrick Pouyanné that the company is open to opportunities for new acquisitions.

The media writes that TotalEnergies has no specific acquisition targets, but the company is assessing players within liquefied natural gas, the electricity sector, as well as companies involved in renewable energy.

TotalEnergies saw earnings triple in the first quarter compared to the same period last year.
