Equinor acquires battery storage developer

The Norwegian oil company has acquired US-based East Point Energy in full.

Equinor has signed an agreement with US energy storage developer East Point Energy to acquire 100% of the company and incorporate it as a subsidiary, the company reports in a press release issued Tuesday.

Based in Virginia, East Point Energy has a 4.1GW portfolio consisting of battery storage projects that are primarily located along the US east coast.
