Shell CEO to resign by year's end

From 2023, the new Chief Executive Officer of Shell will be Wael Sawan. Ben van Beurden will step down after nearly 40 years with the supermajor, the company confirms Thursday.

The rumor mill has been churning for some weeks, but now speculations are finally been confirmed: After almost ten years at the helm of Shell, 64-year-old Ben van Beurden is set to resign by the end of 2022, the British oil and gas giant announces in a press release issued Thursday morning.
